On March 1, 1946 Mr. Roy W. Neal, Jr began Wes-Tex Aircraft at the Lubbock Municipal Airport. He ran a large fixed base operation which included charter, flying school, hangars and the first Piper aircraft dealership. He was a pioneer in the marketing and development of agriculturally related aircraft. Over the years he began to see a gap in the aviation industry in the area of insurance. In June, 1962 Mr. Neal opened an insurance agency out of the Wes-Tex offices to help fill the need to provide insurance to the aviation community. It began as a partnership and in the 1970s was incorporated as the Roy W. Neal, Jr. Agency, Inc.
Mr. Neal’s daughter, Joann, joined the agency in 1980. She continued the legacy established by her father of operating honestly and conscientiously with all of our customers. Today that is how we still operate the agency. We are a family-owned agency and treat our customers like family. Some of our customers have been with the agency for over 30 years and we are now insuring their children. Our customers really are like family!
