We underwrite specialty lines insurance on an admitted basis through Falls Lake National Insurance Company, Stonewood Insurance Company, and Falls Lake General Insurance Company. As the admitted insurance platform of James River Group and as subsidiaries of James River Group Holdings, Ltd., we operate against a capital base of almost $500 million. As with our affiliates, James River Insurance Company (excess and surplus lines) and JRG Re (Bermuda-based reinsurer), we focus on underwriting specialty insurance products through limited distribution partners focused in our desired industry segments. We prefer to write specialty insurance policies on a primary basis, and combine an experienced, common sense approach to the business with rigorous underwriting and claims management and an entrepreneurial culture. We believe that this combination results in success for both you and Falls Lake.
We believe in More Better, and we work each day to ensure that our culture is embodied in our actions. We believe that it is OK to expect more from ourselves each and every day, in each and every activity and action. Equally, we believe it is OK to expect more from others in their actions and interactions with us. By focusing on achieving success in each and every action and interaction, we believe we both win. You get a more responsive, creative, financially sound, insurer that takes the time to understand your opportunities. We get an engaged and knowledgeable distribution source for our business, one that trusts that we will work for our mutual success in everything that we do. You and your clients deserve it. More. Better.

Falls Lake National Insurance Company Listed in Top 50 Best Places to Work in the Triangle by Triangle Business Journal. President and CEO, Steve Hartman stated, “This is a great affirmation of the business and culture we have been building over the last three years. It demonstrates that it is possible to grow a business and make a profit, build a great team and challenge them each day to do more and to be better than the prior day, provide a nurturing environment to enable career and individual development without losing sight of the goals for our business and our shareholders and constituents, and play a meaningful role in our local communities through active support of local nonprofits. Our team members, each and every one of them, have built this company, our company, and the credit goes to them. More. Better.”
