ABOUT WSIA, THE WSIA EDUCATION FOUNDATION, & THE WSIA DIVERSITY FOUNDATION

The Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association (WSIA) is a world-class member service organization representing the entirety of the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines industry. The Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association was formed in 2017 through the merger of the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA) and the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO). Learn more about WSIA here

The WSIA Education Foundation, formed in 2018 with the merger of the AAMGA Education Foundation and the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation, is dedicated to encouraging the educational development of all those interested in the excess and surplus lines business, to creating an understanding, and overcoming the misperceptions of the excess and surplus lines market. Learn more here about the WSIA Education Foundation's initiatives and investments.

The WSIA Diversity Foundation was founded in 2021 to promote diversity in the areas of race, gender, sexual orientation, and disability and to influence meaningful progress in the diversity of the wholesale, specialty and surplus lines insurance industry and its talent pipeline. Learn more about the Foundation’s work here

WSIA STUDENT PROGRAMS

WSIA and its two Foundations provide a number of educational programs to drive awareness of the industry and the opportunities it presents for students. This includes our Extreme Risk Takers Symposium Series in multiple cities (Tempe, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago) which include career fairs, educational sessions, and networking events; a White Paper Contest, $5,000 scholarships, internships, and grants to student organizations and academic programs. CAMPUS PRESENTATIONS

Over 80 Industry members who serve on WSIA’s Talent Outreach Committee make campus visits or do virtual presentations for college classes or student organizations. To request a presentation, complete a request form found here.
