Where to Major in Business? Colleges That Offer RMI Degrees

Seated under a tree a man and a woman of college age talk

Business is easily the most popular undergraduate college major in the United States — one out of five bachelor’s degrees is for some form of business administration and management.

In fact, a business major has actually become more popular in the past 45 years. On the one hand, that’s a good thing for most students, because majoring in business offers a solid return on investment. On the other hand, that means you’re going to have a lot of competition in the job market as 360,000 other business majors graduate every year.

One way to stand out, and almost guarantee you get a solid job after graduation, is to choose a more focused business degree, such as risk management and insurance (RMI).

We’ve talked before about why students should major in RMI and what they can expect from becoming RMI majors. But as you consider whether to major in RMI, you also obviously need to find a college that offers an RMI program.

Almost every college in the country offers a business degree, but there are only about 60 colleges that offer a bachelor’s degree in RMI. Whether or not you want to major in RMI at this point, it’s still a great idea to have the option and to consider colleges with an RMI program.

Here’s a list of all the four-year colleges in the United States that offer RMI degrees, with links to their websites so you can learn more.  For a list of best undergraduate insurance programs, as ranked by U.S. News, please visit their website
